About the madness

I’m a Canadian, married to a Scot, living in Dubai. I’m also an unemployed housewife with too much time on my hands, a penchant for cooking, and perhaps the smallest drop of lunacy in my blood. I come from a long line of good cooks, and truly hope that I live up to their standards, though I’m desperately poor at following recipes and probably experiment more than I should. I love good food, good wine, and good company, and adore playing with my food.

Blowtorching a steak sounds like great entertainment in the land of the midnight sun when the snow is up around our knees in the middle of winter. Can’t wait to try it :)

Lizzie – I’m always looking for testers! A partner in crime would be fun too – especially if you want to scour the spice souk with me for the proper Chicken Tikka Masala spices. Email me at headcook@insearchofgoodenough.com if you’d like to volunteer!

Just read your incredibly entertaining Perfect Hamburger posts (1 to 3), and am desparate to read part 4. Even though I live in (not quite as) sunny Berkshire, I’m still wary of the perfection recipes and want to have a go at the Perfect Hamburger too.

When will you publish part 4 – or have I missed it?

Please keep up the good work. I think I’ve found a surrogate kitchen soulmate – as my wife is definitely not a kitchen person, but does enjoy my cooking.

    Thanks, Steve
